Dd is 2. She has always taken a while to settle to asleep at night but it is getting worse. If I am in (which is most of the time), she takes forever to fall asleep, constantly calling out mummy, mummy, mummy over and over or screaming when I tell her I it is time or sleep. Have tried goingnin everytime, checking all is fine but not engaging with her. tried letting her cry it out. On the odd occasion I have had to go out after protesting whilst I am still in with the above, as soon as I leave, DH says within minutes she is quiet and asleep. Am totally Confused
Tonight we have had all fun and games. After two hours, DH suggested I go and sit in the car. I told dd I was going out. And hey presto within 5 minutes she was asleep.

Please help. It seems that when I am in, she will not settle. Any advise please !! Thank you.

Hmm.

So when you're in, still be 'out'. Settle dd to bed at her bedtime, tell her you love her very much but it's now daddy's job to settle her throughout the night and you'll see her in the morning.

And stick to it. Requires the cooperation of your DH of course!

Thank you ! Will get DH on board and give me going 'out' a go.
Luckily she does sleep through once asleep - but on the odd occasions that she does wake up in the night, the same scenario, if I go in, that's it, not settling back, but if DH goes in, straight away she settles back. Am baffled as to why?
