How old is your baby? If he's very young then he could still be adjusting to being in the big open world, he's used to being curled up being rocked as you move. If he's older then I hare to say it but some babies are just high needs. My 13 month old clings on to me day and night but that won't change so I just get on with it.

Try using a sling for when you need to get things done, I still use ours and it's agod send.

He's 9 months
I don't mind him wanting to be held but seriously every half hour all night long?

it doesn't sound like he hates you, it sounds like he bloody loves you.

what else has changed in 3 days? sounds odd if it's a new thing.

SqutterNutBaush · 05/05/2014 23:49

My daughter wakes every 2 hours now but went through a phase like yours when she was getting teeth through.

Any chance it's teething? Is he hungry? Nappy rash? Reflux?

SqutterNutBaush · 05/05/2014 23:51

Do you have anyone who could come and help you with homework or sit with the baby in another room?

jenny373 · 05/05/2014 23:57

Well it's got more intense in the last 3 days but he is generally clingy
I know he doesn't really hate me but I'm so stressed
My house is a complete shit hole
I havnt washed my hair in 3 days
The bathroom is literally drowning in washing
Things did start to get easier but suddenly they have got worse than ever
I love my baby to pieces but I just want an hour a day just one to spend with my eldest 2

I think 9 months is when separation anxiety really kicks in.

Combine that what illness/teething and you have a Velcro baby.

It will pass. Anyway you can get any help?

SqutterNutBaush · 06/05/2014 16:35

Jenny please don't beat yourself up, honestly I could write your post the amount of times I've sat with my daughter resenting breastfeeding yet again that day or not being able to my sons homework with my eldest without her climbing over me.

It's normal to be overwhelmed by it, I just try to remind myself that one day she will go her own way and I'll miss all these moments (hard to imagine sometimes though!).

  1. Put the baby down for a few minutes when you need to - somewhere safe like his cot. No harm will come to him even if he cries.
  1. Get a sling to wear baby while cooking, doing other jobs.

You have my every sympathy but hope this helps!
