Feeding to sleep and leaving baby overnight

DS's bedtime routine ends in a BF to sleep and I then transfer him to his cot. He stays asleep.

I have to go away for one night in May and DH is starting to panic as to what he will do and how he will get DS to sleep without breasts.

Anyone have any experience? DH is trying to get me to stop feeding to sleep but for the sake of me being away for one night seems stupid and also a bit impossible anyway. DS is 22 weeks. Refuses dummies. Was considering the pantley pull off at some point in the future but feel he is still a bit too young for sleep training! (Whereas DH would happily implement cry it out tomorrow if he was allowed)

We have had a similar situation here and my DP put DD to bed quite successfully. She did cry, but then fell to sleep at the expected, her routine is so well ingrained.

DD us 19 weeks and same as your LO. DH though manages to get her to sleep by rocking/walking round the house. She won't fall asleep like this for me. Definitely hope for you as they seem to do different things for different people.

I left DS at about the same age, he fed to sleep with a bottle of expressed milk, no trouble at all.

If he feeds to sleep, won't your DH be feeding him at bedtime anyway? I'd try out expressing and letting your DH bottle feed him a couple of times to see if that works.

We give a bottle as part of the routine but DS then has a BF directly after this for comfort. Gosh writing that down makes me feel guilty...

Why not excited some milk and dh can give it in a bottle. We have always done this, after bath time, in a dark quiet bedroom. Works almost every time.

Feeding to sleep is what's meant to happen, not some terrible habit.

I agree that walking and cuddling should be fine. He might have to cuddle baby in his knee for a while till they're sound asleep. Hope it all goes ok.
