Unsure of where 2 month old should sleep before bed?

Her cot is in my room and we currently in 1 bedroom flat. During day she might sleep at different times in pram, on me, on soft blanket but all in same room as me. She seems to sleep now from 7pm then has dream feed sort of at 10.30. So far at 7pm when she sleeps I let her sleep the same as during day, and then after dream feed she goes in cot and I go to bed too. It would make sense to put her to bed at 7pm in her cot wouldn't it? But doesn't she have to stay in same room as me for 6 months? Very confusing all these guidelines, what do you or did you do?

If you are happy with baby in same room then carry on. Although a flat, all on the same level and assuming she would be only a few extra steps away (and maybe get a monitor) and check regularly, i don't see why not put her to bed. You will still be sleeping in the same room as her.

We moved DS into his own room at 4 months as we kept waking him up during the night.

Tbh dd was going down in the bedroom at two months (again, small flat, all doors open). However I understand why others choose not to do this.

Another place dd seemed to like sleeping was on her chage mat . It was a thick spongy one, would go on the floor, swaddled with a blanket over her

Do whatever you feel comfortable with - there are no rights or wrongs.

Can I just ask how long she sleeps for after her dream feed? My DD is either awake until we go to bed (around 11) or napping on me, and I'm wondering if I should be trying to settle her into an earlier evening routine, and also where to settle her.

She sleeps usually after dream feed from 4am to 7.30am
Don't know why the difference, maybe something wakes her up on the earlier mornings but I'm probably lucky she does so well. Like I said, I just wonder where to put her while it's evening and I'm still awake

We've got DD sleeping in the lounge with us at the moment in her sleepyhead pillow on the sofa - we managed to get her asleep earlier at 7.30 with the help of a dummy. We'll take her to bed at around 10, then a feed and hopefully back down for a good run but not sure if we'll get less sleep due to the earlier bedtime, really hope not.

Anyway our bedroom is two floors up in the loft conversion so think it's too early for her to go up there alone. However in your flat it sounds like she'd be much closer and you could use a monitor.

There's no "should". Your baby has no idea what's going on and will be quite happy continuing as you are. If that's what you want, obviously.

We've left it until 4 months as looking at all the SIDS risk factors, getting yo 4 months was the final one. It is thought that sleeping in the same room as you reminds them to breathe. Only you can decide how closely you'll follow the guidelines and how you mitigate the risks.

Thank you for all your answers, thank you anything what you said made my mind up, I shall continue as I am maybe to 4 months too then, it' amazes me all the time the things I learn about baby and motherhood, In a way it's so primitive but something so very empowering about my baby needing me, makes me want to step up to her every need!

Just to clarify - I don't mean that at four months the risk of SIDS is entirely gone. I read that the risk is highest between two and four months, and on top of room sharing, not smoking, breastfeeding etc etc, sleeping in the same room for all naps etc until four months felt like "enough" to me.

I understand thank you, I have read the lullaby trust SIDS guidelines so I know the guidance, it's just confusing when I listen to what others do sometimes, but I understood your reasoning.
