My 7 mth old wakes between 5 & 5.30 every morning . Tried feeding , rocking, letting him cry but nothing changes. Goes to bed just before seven. Any advice on other things I could try or do I just have to accept this is the way it is...second child, first had no probs, thoughts, advice really appreciated. X

My mum said my little brother did this, that was just the time he'd had enough sleep so she just lived with it :( have you tried an earlier bedtime? I've just moved ds bedtime to 6pm as he was so tired and so far he is actually waking up a bit later than before, seems counter intuitive but might be worth a try?

How are the day naps?

My DD does this too. We just bring her into bed & give her a cuddle. She usually goes back to sleep within 1/2 hr or less.

Not sure what the solution is.. Maybe make bedtime 1hr later eg 10 mins later every day for a week?

My dd did this until she was 3 lol now sleep straight through till 630 grrr!!!!!!!

If he goes to bed at 7pm then a 5.30am start seems pretty reasonable. Not all babies/children are capable of sleeping in 12 hour stretches.

I treated any waking before 7am as the middle of the night!!

Dd went through a phase of waking at this time, usually I would give her a drink, change her nappy and put her back to bed. if she cried would reassure but not get her up again, she would eventually go back to sleep,

By a year she slept 7 til 7.

Agree with poster who suggested putting to bed earlier, maybe 6.30 and monitor naps during the day.
