Let me tell you about my night....

Ds2, fed and settled by 7.30. Lovely. Woke at 9pm, needed a cuddle to get back to sleep. Same at 10pm. And 11pm. At 12 I held him off until 12.30am and fed him. Settled by 1am. Woke at 2am. And 3am. Fed him 3.30am. Took until 5.30am to settle him. Ds1 awake at 6.30am which means the whole house is. Soooo, I am a cranky shouty monster who is swearing blind I will have no more children. Not only do I need the sleep, but surely he's not getting anywhere near enough?! He's 11 weeks tommorrow. And only sleeps 20mins at a stretch in the day. Blah, it's not going to be a good day........

What happens if you try to feed him at 9pm?

Are you breast or bottlefeeding? He could well be having a growth spurt. I'd say don't hold off feeding him at this age.

He usually goes a stretch of 5 hours or so to midnight/1am. He'd had massive feeds in the afternoon, and then at 7pm another giant one, so when he woke at 9 he had a huge burp and fell back asleep. It seems that whenever he wakes first (be it 9pm or 3am which happened once!) he is unsettled for the rest of the night. Regardless of how much I feed him. I know it is still early days, gotta just get through it. Just feel a little on the edge today. He is breastfed btw.

i think the first 12 weeks is the hardest time,hope you have a better night.

Ooh, it gets better! is now 4.45pm and he has had about 4 lots of 10 min catnaps today. I'm knackered, how is he not?! Ds1 doing that great thing where they pick up on tension and go loopy. roll on wine o'clock....
