Ds has suddenly started waking up shouting me a couple of hours after he goes to bed. I ended up being up all night with him a few days ago but as I work full time I need a strategy.

He woke at 8.40 tonight and I heard him throw his dummies out so I went and put them back in his cot, no eye contact etc. He still didn't settle and was getting hysterical so I went back in and got him from his cot and sat on the rocking chair in his room. I cuddled and did sush pat but it took a good 30 minutes for him to calm down. I still didn't do eye contact and no talking other than shush.

He fell asleep on me about 9.50 but when I put him back in his cot he woke again and shouted for me for a few minute before goin to sleep.

Is there a better way of dealing with this? He really loves his sleep but if he wakes once the whole night is generally a mess so I need to find a good way of dealing with it.

Tia :)
