night feed and early waking - which to tackle first?

Nearly 9 mo still wakes for a feed around 4. Not in itself a problem but combined with early waking its killing me. Usually up at 5.45 with a dirty nappy. No going back to sleep until 1st nap, around 8.

Daytime naps are okish, 8-10, and 12.45 to 2/2.30, so around 3.5 hrs, he is usually out by 6.30pm.

He has cut his top 2 teeth, after which I hope he'd improve (also affected his appetite so was reluctant to start messing with the only bottle he actually gulped down). He now has 4 daytime bottles, and 3 meals, so isn't hungry.

I know he is learning lots at the moment, (not yet crawling but on the brink for a week now), and there is a 8/9/10 mth sleep regression, but it just always seems to be something.

Really need some help with this..... thinking of phasing out the bottle by watering it down, and would do wake to sleep if it weren't for the dirty nappy. Is there any chance the night bottle is causing the 5.45 poo?? Don't know how/which to tackle.

Thanks anyone who might be able to offer any advice.

I would of thought 4 bottles and 3 meals would be sufficient for him to go through the night at his age.
I would definitely try and drop that 4am feed, I would say he isn't waking for it due to hunger but due to routine!
You need to make him think it's not worth waking for so I would try offering water or if he doesn't take that keep reducing the oz until your down to 2/3ozs, Also I would keep leaving him that little bit longer when he wakes at 4am before you go to him, 5mins then 10mins then 15 etc that with reducing the amount should get him to drop the feed, may take a week or 2 but definitely persevere with it,
