my son is 7.5 months old. ive recently started just offering water through the night instead of milk which is going ok...however he wakes up at 5.30am and turns his nose up completely at water and crys until i get him up. i have tried the cio method but as its an awkward time in the morning...it wakes my 4yr old up and its not fair on her so i dont really want to do it. has anyone any tips or advice please? i just need him to go to 6.30am as thats when my other child wakes up anyway

same situation here. my dd is 12mo and have recently night weaned her except 5am is tricky. too late to go back to sleep but too early for me!!

Also her crying wakes my 3yo which is not ideal because he wakes nearer to 7.

I'd personally just feed and see if he goes back to sleep.I tried many other things at same age but just think the early waking thing is very common and you should take path of last resistance as his routine will keep changing anyway.

i fed at 5.30 and he went straight back to sleep til 8. do you think if i did this dream feeding thing say at midnight then he wouldnt wake up so early?

I doubt it, why not keep feeding at 5.30, he'll not do it forever but he is still only small and probably hungry at 5.30. I didn't find dream feeds helped, and no point in you getting up then if you don't have to.better you get to sleep early as way to manage early starts.
