DD hysterical - I'm getting that way too!

We have done the usual routine (face, milk, teeth, nappy, story, more BM) but for the last few nights, she is hysterical when left and won't do anything apart from shake the cot and scream for about an hour. I am at my wits' end. She is 15 months. Doesn't sleep through either at the moment, but that's another thread.

Any advice (apart from a stiff drink)?

Does she start to cry when she is lain down? Is this new over the last few days? Could she have a sore ear?

Yes I suppose she does. When I relent, though, she's happy as anything and picking up books for me to read to her. I thnk she doesn't want to be left alone. Can't cuddle her all night though, alas.

Do you think a trip to the Dr's is needed?

We're going through similar at the moment if that's of any comfort! As I type this dd (20 months) is in the room above giving it stacks! She's had ear infections recently and has got used to being cossetted more, now we're trying to teach her to settle herself to sleep again she doesn't like it much. Hard going isn't it?

Might be worth getting ears checked out. I know antibiotics are not in vogue any more, but paracetamol will help if ear infection causes pain when lying down.
