13mo will only sleep with a bottle in his mouth. How can I break this habit?

Ds2 is an erratic sleeper. He can sleep through but only about once a week. The only way he settles back to sleep and to sleep at nap and bedtime is with a bottle. In sleep deprived desperation we let him do this but now that I am getting some sleep and beginning to think again, I know this isn't a good idea. He isn't a good enough sleeper to just go cold turkey and take the bottle away but should I swap it for a dummy as an interim measure? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I'd swap it for a dummy for now but see if your library had got a copy of this book Smile

Thankyou. I've got that book for babies but hadn't thought of looking at it and I'll try the toddler one.
