10mo waking at 4/5am - any ideas?

Just that really, dd now wakes every day sometime between 4 & 5 am (after a fairly broken night) & just looking for ideas for how to get her down for another couple of hours. She is pretty awake and either won't go down at all, or goes down for a short time (with a cuddle) & is back up again. Invariably I do her morning bottle at that point, sometimes I can get her back for an hour or so but often she is then ready to play without any more sleep Sad.

Have tried leaving her in her cot with toys but she either cries for me when I leave the room, or chucks them all out of cot/starts whacking her head on cot ends etc so not really a practical solution. We won't put her in our bed as it just makes her hyper and she crawls all over us.

Thanks!

Ok. Some things that helped us were that when she woke at whatever god awful hour we went in and told her it was sleepy time and stayed with her until it was an acceptable getting up time. What we stopped doing was giving her milk until a time that was acceptable for waking up eg 6am. Also no naps before 9 am. Gradually prolong the length of time before she gets her nap. Eg aim for 10-10:30 ish.
