DD2, 9 months, waking ealier and earlier in the morning. Is there any way to nip it in the bud?

I'm sure this has been done a million times but I couldn't find an exact thread about it in archives.

I cannot believe this is happening again. DD1 went through the same thing. She hit the 9 month mark and moved her waking up time earlier and earlier. We were on a 2 week extended family holiday to france and she was waking at 5am French time! Dh and I alternated getting up with her but it did ruin the holiday somewhat as it meant late nights were off the agenda.

DD2 has been a great sleeper from 5 months onwards. She was slow to get the hang of daytime naps but she's now having 2 daytime naps. But now her wake-up time has crept forward. It went from 7am (and sometimes 7:30am!) to 6:45, to 6:30, to 6:100 and now it appears she is awake before 6 some days! Arghhhhh!

And we're 3 weeks off another extended family holiday to Spain. I am not looking forward to it now. I envisage it being 9pm and one of us yawning becuase we've been up since 5am and the other one saying, "well, I'd better get to bed, as I have tio be up at 5 in the morning"

Is there anything I can do......?

Hi beatie

Just wanted to let you know we're going thru the same thing with DD2, who'll be 10m on the 10th. She's edged backwards from 6am to 4am!!! I found this thread quite useful.

Good luck - I'm turning into a bit of a monster mum because of this ...

Done it - do think they sleep later in winter tho - I've never achieved 100% blackout
