Which Duvet Tog for a toddler

DD is now in a full size single bed but still with her cot duvet. I want to get her a full size single but not sure what tog I should be getting?

Do I stick with a 4Tog or go up to a 7 - 10 Tog?

Not sure, any advice would be great.

John Lewis say 4 as young children are in danger of overheating. My 3 DDs are all young, and hardly any of them sleep under their 4 tog down duvets all night - they kick them off.

the maximum for a single bed is 10.5tog whereas for a toddler bed it is a maximum of 4.5tog

4 tog. She's only little still.
My ds has 4 tog and he is refusing pyjamas and half covered. The heating isn't on!

We use a fleecy blanket for bitterly cold nights eg when it's snowing. Better that than be stuck with a too thick duvet which he wouldnt ever use!

I forgot to add - ds is in a normal single bed (duvet is a 4 tog single size from ikea)

Brilliant, thank you. Through as much, but great to have it confirmed.

I did think she would get too hot with anything higher than a 4 tog. The fleece topper is a great idea. Think we'll get a Ikea single duvet does that need a ikea cover too

Yes we got ikea covers but they are nice and cheap!

You can get tog 4 single duvets elsewhere I'm sure (we have a king sized one!)

I got mine online thank god Grin

why on earth would you need to go to ikea? You can get 4.5tog duvets in the supermarket, argos etc

daughterofafarmer · 28/09/2013 18:01

I've checked and our local supermarkets aren't selling 4.5 tog duvets. Will see if I can buy online from IKEA.

we have the 4.5 tog mysa strå ones from ikea.

they feel very comfy, wash well and dry quickly (potty training in mind).
they are plenty warm for my dc.

MousyMouse · 28/09/2013 18:10

they are a tiny bit different sizewise to uk sizes, but normal bedding still fits ok.
