16mo, does earlier to bed mean earlier to rise?

Ds sleeps through most nights waking only if he is unwell or teething. He wakes between 6.30 and 7.30am. I have cut him down to one nap over the last three weeks as he was resisting the second nap so now naps around 12.30 -2.30 then goes to bed at 7.45. I hear of other mums putting their babies to bed earlier than this but i am terrified he wakes even earlier as I am no morning person and if he is up at 6.30am I bribe him with toys and books in his cot whilst i have another dose. What is your experience?

Hi sharond, hmm not sure. DS has similar bedtime/awake time to your DS, but he doesn't seem that tired earlier so for us it wouldnt work. Does your DS seem tired earlier? You could perhaps try and put him down 5 mins earlier every few nights and see how he adjusts. We used to have that pre 6am wakening and it drove me nuts, no way could I go back to that. He just seemed to grow out of it though :)

The pre 6am wakening was a killer for us too. Every morning either 5.09am or 5.11am for weeks DS was wide awake. He sometimes seems tired earlier although other times not. Today he had a particularly early nap as we had an appointment to go to so was tired earlier and put him to bed at 7.25pm.
