Our 4 month old DS2 started having really good nights for the last week (waking once for a feed between 7pm-6.30am ish) after a few weeks of waking up on and off from 3.30am onwards.
........ But last 2 nights have been crap! waking at times he doesn't normally, getting upset more than usual. He has a little cough and I wonder if he might be starting to teethe. I have been in and out of his room like a bloody yo-yo to re-settle him and put his dummy back in (keeps spitting it out when coughing!)
He is cranky in the day, prob through tiredness and feeling under the weather, poor thing.
He is currently asleep in the sling as its the only way I can get him to have a decent length of sleep the last couple of days.
DH can't help as he sleeps separately when working (rubbish shift pattern)
Basically, I'm just having a moan! Not expecting any answers, I know I have to ride it out. Just wanted to get it off my chest!! x

Four-month sleep regression - total bugger!
No magic bullet by any means, but have you tried slightly raising one end of his cot (on books for example) to help with cough/cold symptoms?
I feel your pain - we had it bad at that age and still do now sometimes.
