Do I ditch the sleeping bags and switch to a cot duvet?

Since she was born last year, my DD has slept in a sleeping bag but as the summer was so warm, for the past month or so she?s just had a sheet over her or a blanket.

It was a little chilly last night so I tried to get her back into a sleeping bag but she?s not having any of it so I was wondering about buying a cot duvet instead. However, I worry that in the depths of winter she?ll wriggle out of it and will be too cold.

She?s nearly 18 months by the way so no risk of suffocation now. Any ideas? My DS was in sleeping bags until he went into a bed at 2.5 but I did think then that maybe he just needed a duvet instead.

Hi. My DD was in a sleeping bag until the weather got too hot, and now mainly sleeps without covers (even though, depending on temp, she has a blanket / duvet available in her cot!) as she kicks them off. Don't think it's doing her much harm though. I'd go for the duvet - they need to learn how to manage them sooner or later!!

similar here, DS is 13 mo and has been sleeping in just a longsleeve/legged babygrow past month or so. Last night put him back in sleeping bag but as he always stands in his cot when we wakes in the night, he was getting all tangled last night, and wasn't able to turn and shift around as much, so I'm considering blanket/duvet route too.

Ah same with my 14 mth old. I'd thought his bag was perhaps too tight now, rushed out bought some bigger size (its mahoosive) but nope, screamed the bloody place down. Now using big mussie and a blanket which he kicks off and twists around him. Another 17 quid wasted trying to get DS to sleep
Can you use a duvet at nearly 15mths you think?

Yeah I should think so. I had a look online today and I thought I might as well get a cot bed duvet so I can tuck it under the mattress.

DS had a cot duvet from about 12 months, and at 18 months was in a single bed with a pillow and duvet and was fine.
