My bleep bleep expleted deleted bleep DTs are not sleeping.

I have tried everything... well hopefullly not everything.

Controlled crying, walking away slowly and back and away blah blah. I've done the cross face, stern cross voice. I have sat with them, ignored them, taken them silently back to bed. Read to them, filled them with milk. They won't be separated... believe me I've tried.

I'm about ready to medicate them (and that's not completely a joke either).

Who wants them? This clammy weather is not helping my mood. Ready to eat an entire lemon drizzle cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never mind champagne........ whoever solves this will not only have my eternal gratitude and lemon drizzle cake till they burst, they will save me from taking up my reserved cell in Holloway.

Yes.... they are still up now and I needed to walk away from them.

Leave them to their own devices for a while and eat the cake

MarsLady · 13/06/2006 22:27

I've been doing that for the past hour and a half. Am really and truly completely frustrated! Gah!!!!!!!!!!! Soon I won't even love my own lemon cake. Sob!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey.... would you like them?

Oh dear....the only thing I can suggest which is a short term thing is either putting on some radio/music/story tape/cd very quietly in the background just for a rythmatic noise.

Upsadaisy · 13/06/2006 22:28

What normally works?

Aero · 13/06/2006 22:31

Come and see me, pick up your fort, have a rant and whinge, and meet ds2 who on his own could probably outdo your pair on the naughty 2yo front all by himself..........he does go to sleep though - it's just that he wakes up 50 times a night, lol

glasgowgal · 13/06/2006 22:32

how old are they?
(not because I want them I hasten to add {grin}

Aero · 13/06/2006 22:34

Sorry, I do feel for you - honestly. Just couldn't think of a more sensible suggestion. Mine all go to sleep listening to a story/music tape though if that helps.

MarsLady · 13/06/2006 22:34

glasgow... they are 28 months.

Bath, milk, story, bed usually works! Hasn't for the last couple of weeks. Will try the tape thing. Sigh...................

Aero.... not only will I arrive, I will leave carrying only the fort having "forgotten" the DTs.

Do you think we can blame the weather? We are having problems with ours at the moment, too. They just won't settle, although they are asleep now. Come the morning we'll be waking them up for school/nursery.

glasgowgal · 13/06/2006 22:39

Agree with the tape thing- my ds used to go listening to some memeric nursery rhyme tape.

MarsLady · 13/06/2006 22:42

We can blame anything we like. I have to confess my sense of humour has vanished down the toilet.... unlike the DTs poo which seems to be appearing on my carpet........sigh..........

And yet........ I think I hear...... nothing! Oh Praise God and Hallelujah.

Will be playing rhythmic tapes from tomorrow. Thanks ladies. Just needed to give the problem over to someone else for a while.

The offer to have the twins still stands though..... oh Glasgowgal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh... the sweetest (non) sound in the world. go and look at thier cherubic sleeping faces and you will retract that offer.

Night night

MarsLady · 13/06/2006 22:57

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....will let you know Glasgow.

Just checking... you are North of the border? Wink

Marsy, my love, bless you, but that'll be a no, unless you take me with you as we leave. MIL (moving in tomorrow - wish me luck) is great with littlies and I know a great coffee shop. hehe! [wicked grin emoticon]

Tapes didn't work last night, but I shall press on! They haven't slept at all today, so I'm currently living through argument hell. Still, hopefully sleep tonight. The story tapes have been introduced.

Ooh almost time for the footie!

MarsLady · 15/06/2006 22:31

It was a horrible evening. The footie punctuated with the arguments of 2yo DTs. Put them to bed. DT1 fell asleep before we got upstairs, DT2 10 mins later. Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!
