Where to put my little one to sleep when we're out?

I'm finding much of my social life revolves around visiting friends at home (drinking lots of tea and eating lots of cake!) but my DS is not getting the naps he needs when I do this. He won't sleep in the buggy unless I am walking, and if he sleeps in my arms it means we have to sit in silence.

Any ideas for where he could get a full nap, but which wouldn't involve carrying a big travel cot with me in the buggy? I travel on public transport so am space limited.

thanks!

I have a similar issue except for the sitting in silence. She sleeps on me while we chat. You could start getting baby used to sleeping when it's not completely silent?

What about this travel cot ? We've got one for camping, it folds to practically nothing Smile

At nurseries they nap on a mat on the floor. Needs a bit of work at first...
