how do you get a 9month old who normally wears grobags to bed to stay led down?

Ds has been just wearing a nappy to bed the last few nights and for naps, but he just pulls himself up and stands at the side of the cot peering out at me (which he can't do in his grobag). I've laid him down several times and each time he's staight back up, even though he's rubbing his eyes and is obviously very tired.

So this time I've left him, come downstairs and thought he'd gone to sleep when I hear an almighty thump followed by screams where he's pulled himself up and then fallen down and banged his head on the cot.

So any ideas on how to keep them down and not standing up being a danger unto themselves?

I live in Cyprus and as you can imagine the weather out here is warm! My 11 month old wears a 0.5 tog gro bag which stops him getting his legs caught in the cot sides!

Ah, didn't realise you could get a 0.5 tog. Will have a look for one. Thank you :)

Bump to 3 (original grobags) do lots of designs in 0.5 tog. These \link{http://www.bumpto3.com/category.aspx?DISPLAYCAT=sleep&CAT=Products&CATGRY=baby_sleeping_bags\are them}

Hope that works, never linked before!

I had the same problem with my ds. What I did was put my hand on him and gently push him back down if he tried to get back up. I waited with my hand resting on him until he fell asleep. It worked but requires a patience!

oliham thank you! Have ordered a little pirates one!

Jahan - would require rather more than a gentle hand! More like a lead weight :o
