My 20 month old was doing fine...we had a few months of pretty good sleep. But now she has figured out how to climb out of her cot and come into our room and into our bed.

She was getting good at self settling, after being a horrible sleeper till 18 months, but now she can get out she doesnt even try to settle. Its just wake up and climb out. And when I try to put her back she goes crazy and I risk waking other children.

How do you stop the getting out of bed/coming in mummy bed thing? I am at a loss, my other kids never did this.

Does she have a grobag? They do help stop the climbing.

Into a bed asap if a child is climbing out of bed, not safe at the best of times let alone in the middle of the night.

Once in a bed you can return to bed over and over againor move over and let her in!Grin

INto a bed and a stair gate on.

Or side off the cot. Its a long way to fall and hit a little head.

Yes definitely, I've seen a child fall from a cot and it was awful. The second a child can get their leg up over the side of the cot then it's time for a bed, you can put a rail on the side.

Ds was in a bed at about 18 months.

If she can clump out of a cot she shouldn't be in one.

I would just move over a bit and let her cuddle down- whatever gets the most people the most sleep is always the right thing to do!
