Baby wants to chat at 3am

Hi everyone.

Am trying to get my 5mo to sleep through from 10pm to anywhere after 5am. She has been weaned early due to reflux and is on 2 meals per day plus milk. Milk volume still the same as pre weaning.

So, my problem... I know she isn't hungry during the night she will only have a small amount if offered before falling back asleep and whether she's had a 3am feed or not, will not take anything until after 8am. (Even if she's been awake since 5!)
She wakes up chatting and won't go back to sleep. I've done 5 nights of water and put her back down with dummy. 2 nights she's go straight back to sleep and 3 nights (inc last night) she won't go back to sleep, spits dummy out, "talks" to me and smiles at me. Think she just wants the attention personally. Ignoring her gets me nowhere she ends up crying and I just can't listen to it. I am trying to use "shh & pat" to get her back to sleep. Took me 1.5 hrs this morning.
Anyone any ideas?! Willing to try most things but not cry it out.

Thanks
