Putting DS (11 month) in his own room tonight for the first time

I don't know what made me decide tonight is the night and I'm sitting in his room feeding him (EBF) wondering why and trying not to cry that I won't be able to open half an eye and see him at anytime in the night.

He is my whole world and I love sleeping next to him but I fear our closeness could be disturbing his sleep as he can wake alot in the night.

Am I doing the right thing?

He'll be fine. He'll let you know if he needs you. It's not an all or nothing thing either, you can always bring him back in with you if he wakes (fingers crossed he sleeps through though!).

Thanks plummy. It was such an impulsive decision I'm sitting here wondering WTF!

Don't go hard on yourself. I set up a bed in my two dc's room when they went in alone just in case they got unsettled in the night

I have a bed in there too Smile

Sad not going well.

I had to get up to resettle him (feed back to sleep) at 11 and 1245. He then woke at 345 and still awake now (450) which he hasn't done in ages. I've booted DH to the spare room and DS now with me. I've had about 3 hours sleep and feel awful because of it (plus I have a cold)

I think his cot is coming back to my room first thing in the morning...

Grin Maybe try just the start of the night and take from there?
