7mo DS waving his arms all over the place during naps

... And only naps for 1hr...
Previously we swaddled him for naps as he was quite difficult to settle during the daytime. But after several hot days we thought it might be good to wean him off swaddling as I guess he is a bit too old for swaddle.
Does this happen to anyone else? I thought startle reflex should have already stopped at this age? Is this something I should worry about?
Thanks for any advice.

My LO 18 weeks has also been swaddled, still is for some naps, but last night due to a few weeks of terrible sleep I tried her on her front and she slept.much better. Before that if I've tried stopping swaddling she also waved arms around. Worth a try?

I now really miss the time when DS was 18weeks old, when it was easy to put him in any positions. Now it is impossible to keep him still in one position. When he stays on his front, it seems that the only thing he wants to do is to lift up his head and peak through the cot, then gets all excited and rolls over everywhere... :(

Sounds like my baby! I've just posted about weaning off the swaddle as she has helicopter arms when she's out of it and wakes herself up. Sometimes her arms look out of control but because she's able to grab things when she wants to with either arm, I'm not too worried.

So no advice, except that it sounds very familiar!

She's 6.5 months by the way. Actually I'm wondering if her crazy arms are partly due to being restricted all night and not having as much practice at keeping them still.

They do calm down with the arms. I stopped swaddling LO 7 months about 1.5 months ago and he was all over the place with his arms. Still can be for a few mins before actually bed time but often calms down within a few mins. It's just having the freedom of them and where to put them when going to sleep.
