3yo gone from world's best sleeper to world's worst.

3yo DD is waking several times a night and sometimes won't settle for an hour. It possibly starts with a nightmare (says she's scared and/or has a bad dream) so we reassure her she's safe, say we'll stay a little while and then go back to bed.

Then the stalling tactics start: she's not tired/too tired/hungry/thirsty/needs a wee/needs a cuddle/is sad on her own until a full-blown throwing-herself-on-the-floor-screaming tantrum erupts. At 3.30am last night. This makes me think she's not genuinely scared (at least by this point).

We're doing Super Nanny's stay-in-bed technique and have a reward chart but it's still going on two months later. Any suggestions gratefully received. We're all knackered (inc DD). Sad

I'm in the same position with nearly 4yo DD, so I will hang out with you.

Bribery is the only thing that got my son through the night, and as he never went through til 3yrs, you absolutely have sympathy. we wouldn't let him have any cbeebies if we'd had a bad night. Good luck

No CBeebies? Are you trying to kill me? Wink

Just been up with her (hence time of post) and stroked her arm and she was asleep in 30 seconds. Good for her. Angry Grin
