3yo DD is waking several times a night and sometimes won't settle for an hour. It possibly starts with a nightmare (says she's scared and/or has a bad dream) so we reassure her she's safe, say we'll stay a little while and then go back to bed.
Then the stalling tactics start: she's not tired/too tired/hungry/thirsty/needs a wee/needs a cuddle/is sad on her own until a full-blown throwing-herself-on-the-floor-screaming tantrum erupts. At 3.30am last night. This makes me think she's not genuinely scared (at least by this point).
We're doing Super Nanny's stay-in-bed technique and have a reward chart but it's still going on two months later. Any suggestions gratefully received. We're all knackered (inc DD).
