Is there any point doing any kind of sleep training before 6 months?

As I sit here feeding my 18wo DD2 to sleep only 3 hours after she last fed, noticing she isn't really taking in much milk as really she wants to sleep I wonder is it worth doing anything before 6 months. Do I send my DP up? Pat her whilst she cries for the breast? Or just feed her?

I'm knackered from this. I only had a couple of months of DD1 sleeping through before DD2 came along. She didn't sleep through til I stopped bfing and even then took a couple of months longer to settle completely. I always figured I was doing something wrong.

Was I? Do I address things with DD2 now before they become habit?

I think she's a bit young tbh. There is also a big sleep regression/growth spurt around now. I've found there has not point in sleep training during those as its just makes everyone more stressed.

I feel for you though. DS is 15 months and still only occasionally sleeps through.
