My 4mo DD has started her horrible sleep regression it seems. Going from sleeping 10-6 to waking every 2 hours at least. She struggles to nap more than 30 monuites in the day and is just a bit of a grump in herself. The whole sleep problems has made some deeper rooted issues come to light.
But I just got her to have a nap, without her falling asleep on me, without letting her suck my fingers, without nursing her to sleep!! For the first time ever!!! I put her down when she was half asleep let her grumble till it became crying, comforted her without picking her up or letting her fall totally asleep and let the cycle continue for 20 minuites and magically she was asleep.
It's the first time EVER EVER EVER she's fallen asleep herself. I am feeling ever so smug right now. But this whole process is fine and dandy and all for the day. But during the night I absolutly suck and just do whatever helps me get the most sleep. Plus thruthfully I'm not really sure how to impliment this into a night time strategy? Any ideas? Mumsnet has always given me wonderfull advice and I'm a bit sleep deprived, confused and not sure how to continue from here...
