My son is over the 99th percentile for height and it now at the end of his grow bag when he stretches out. I'm also worried he's getting his leg wound up in the grow bag ( hope that makes sense !) and wakes up as he doesn't have enough room to move around.
I would change him to sheets but as soon as he's out of the grow bag he climbs out the cot ! He hasn't yet discovered how to do it in the grow bag Wink I'm really hoping its not time for the sides off !! He's a very active little boy !!
Any advise from those with tall toddlers ? Sorry just to ass the grow bag is upto 36 months

Hi spud

I had this problem, too a few months ago with my 2.11 DS. He's as tall as a 4 year old (DP is 6.7!).

I wasn't quite ready to take the sides off the cot at that point either, so we just made a special trip to get him a 'big boy' duvet (he choose an Octonauts one) and then put the duvet and pillow in the cot, tucked under the mattress so he felt secure.

As it's a bit warmer now if he does kick the duvet off he's not going to freeze, but you could always stick an extra layer on if you're worried.

After a couple of weeks we took the side off the cot and again made a big fuss of him in his big boy bed. I'll be honest, it wasn't pleasant. It took a good 2 weeks to get him used to the bed, lots of up and down and walking him back to bed, up in the night, and once - horror - I had to return him to bed over 70 times.

But it's a massive transition for them and my DS is very stubborn, but he got it and loves his bed now!

Good luck!!
