naps gone wrong & baby fell out of cot - help

The last 2 days my 17mo ds has been absolutely beside himself when I put him in his cot for a nap. Yesterday I ended up taking him into my bed for a co-nap. Today he actually managed to throw himself over his cot side, so again I took him for a co-nap.

He was at childminder Monday and I am wondering if something happened, I know he was put down for a nap in the lounge, unusually, so I'm wondering if there was some upset. I'll be pretty upset of there was as his naps are now totally screwed up

So my plan so far is to call childminder and ask if anything happened Monday. What do I do about him being able to climb over the cot side?

Why would this suddenly start happening & what do I do about it?

If he's usually good for naps this kind of thing usually means he's teething or getting ill, in my experience. I would co sleep or do his naps in the pram or car for a couple of days myself. HTH

Thanks Eating, think I'll try that otherwise hating the cot may become a habit.

I'm now also having an issue with bedtime! So I currently have him dropping off (hopefully) on me in the bedroom chair, to be transferred to cot later, fingers crossed.

is he getting near to dropping his nap? some do at this age ( all mine, sigh)

No, I really don't think so, still very tired and sleeps 2 hours. (Ouch, sorry. Prob not what you want to hear mercui)

Update on today - he started to get upset when I told him it was nap time, but I took him straight in with me so settled down reasonably quickly.

Also I've started to notice teething signs today so that may explain matters - I hope.

Re throwing himself over the cot, can you put him in a sleeping bag? That way he won't be able to swing his legs over? Good luck.
