i am trying to cut down on breastfeeding, and getting dd3 to settle to sleep in her cot and not on the boob. she is 14months old and has always fed to sleep. we are on out 3rd night of pick-up-put-down (bit like cc but not as bad). she is sobbing solidly for the full 5mins between pick-ups, i am holding her till she calms, then putting her back down. its been 45mins and she is just settling. she had a good feed before bed and was sleepy.

before anyone asks about why i am cutting back on b/f, i have a problem with my neck which causes a lot of pain, i usually take codeine for it and anti-inflamertries, but dont want to take them whilst b/f.

Sounds like you are doing fine Misdeel 45 mins (although a long time when you are the one doing it) is reasonable. Hang on in there, you know how important it is to be consistent. You will get there! Smile

I promise you that she won't remember in the morning. You will feel better after a good night's sleep and once you can take your codeine again.
