What is the next step? Self-soothing for naps

Hi all,

My 6 month old daughter has a great bedtime routine, and goes into her cot happy and awake - and will self settle 98% of the time, unless she is very overtired.

Unfortunately, i'm still feeding her to sleep or very almost asleep for her naps. I've implemented a short naptime routine (change, book, seahorse music and feed) which seems to be working great. Generally it only takes 5 or 10 mins from start to sleep unless I've missed the window, though the 3rd nap of the day can be difficult.

However I guess now is the time to start teaching her to settle herself for naps before I stop breastfeeding. It's so strange the way her ability to self-sooth at night doesn't carry automatically for naps! She will just cry if I put her in the cot awake or even dozy, and will get progressively more and more upset unless I give her the breast. I don't think she has ever fallen asleep on her own for naps, ever :(

What would be the next step to help teach her to self-sooth? Where do I go from here? It's so hard to know ....

Thanks a mil!
