Is it worth me buying a carrycot to fit onto my pram - 4 mth old

Hi,
I bought a Graco Evo pram and am really pleased with it. However, I wish I bought a carrycot part for it as I could use it for somewhere for my baby to sleep in the day. The carrycot is £90 but I reckon it would only last till they are 6mth. Is it worth it just to save my sanity for a couple of months? If not, what else can I do - he won't sleep in moses or cot during the day (only laps).

If he won't sleep in a moses basket then he might not sleep in the carrycot either. I wouldn't bother as he will grow out of it too soon. Can't he just sleep in the pushchair reclined flat. That is what my DS has being doing for a few months now - it's the only place other than a sling where I can get him to nap.

How much are they second hand? We have just bought a new pram as they resell for 75% so decided it was worth it, it might only end up costing you £20!

I would recon that most carry cots are already too big for your dc.

My DC slept in the carrycot to go with the Silver Cross Sleepover Pram until they were 2+. But it is a biggie. Sleeping in a moving pram carrycot is different to a Moses Basket, and they easily squish into them. DC drop straight off to sleep on a walk in it, then I came home, parked it in the hall/garden and they carried on sleeping. Also v. good for long days out, as DC can have substantial naps in them, as well as for taking to restaurants/parties/friends' houses for evening events, so they can sleep.

DD2 has currently been asleep in her pram carrycot for 3 hours, after a 30 minute walk. She's 16 weeks. I'm waiting for her to wake up!

I'd recommend buying it - you can always sell it on if you don't use it.

No way, waste of money. As someone else said, it is basically a Moses basket so why would he sleep in it if he hates the Moses basket? If it's the motion of the pushchair, just let him sleep in that, surely.

No. Wait for a month or two and your little one will be sitting up, not liking the carry cot. Don't waste your money our house space.

DS was sleeping in his moses basket and occasionally in the carry cot in the pram until around 9 months. Blush He wouldn't sleep anywhere else though, the moses basket was actually in the cot at night. Hmm

As someone else has already said, you could look for a second hand one. Probably just best with a big comfy footmuff and laying the buggy completely flat though.

I've got the graco EVO carrycot. It's great but my 13lb 14 week old is only going to be in it for another few weeks I think. I suspect your baby is already too big, the carry cot is proportionally quite narrow too so even if the baby fits I'm not sure they'd be comfortable. I'd save your money.
