Thank you all so much for the replies to my last post, I have not been back to H V since hence why I'm asking you normal ladies again for your advice. My son was sleeping 7-7 with a dream feed at 12 & may be a small feed at 4/5. A few nights he has slept 7-7 with no Wakings which I completely understand is very lucky and also inconsistent. The last week he has been waking at 12 instead of us just lifting him out and then again at 4.30am and then he thinks the day starts at 5.30am. I understand there is a sleep regression around this age but do I adjust bed time to accommodate this or just carry on and ride it out. I don't want to mess with his routine which he kind of set himself as he is not a big sleeper in the day he struggles to get past 7pm, it's game over by 6.45pm after bath time.
The thought of a 5am start for the next few months fills me with dread :(

I think it's very common at that age. DS certainly did a good 2 months of ALWAYS waking at 5am and not settling again without a bf even if he'd had a feed at 4am... Was RUBBISH! We dealt with it by bringing him in with us and I would feed him lying down and we'd all doze till 6.30ish. When he went in his own room (5mo ish) I started ignoring him at 5am (not crying just whinging) and he started settling back to sleep by himself. Eventually he stopped waking then as a matter of habit. I also kept it as a night waking-dark room etc. HTH Smile
