6 week old with no pattern of sleeping or feeding

My DS is just over six weeks old and I am struggling with his sleeping and feeding. At the moment he has no pattern during the day or night. In the nighttime he will sleep in his cot next to our bed but during the day he will only sleep on me or OH, or laying on a pillow. I have tried him in the cot in the day but he will only sleep for a few minutes before waking, even with white noise. In terms of feeding he is on Cow and Gate and usually takes about 120ml but this varies. Its not unusual for him to feed, sleep for 30mins and then wake for another feed. He doesn't really have much awake time where he's not feeding, perhaps an hour a day. We normally have feeds at 9.30ish pm , 2ish am and 5ish am. The crazy non-pattern normally starts from the 5.00 feed. He's also quite sicky, with about 5 to 10ml coming up after feeds andabout an hour after. So cutting to the chase, I need to get him to sleep somewhere sensible during the daytime and then try and reduce the night feeds as much as possible, can anyone help please?!

are you getting out the house with him during the day? I know it's hard in this shitty weather but my DS started to be a lot more awake during the day once I started making myself leave the house with him in the buggy once a day, no matter what the weather.

Even if he sleeps in the buggy, i think the act of being out in the daylight is helpful.

Also, if your house is nice and toasty and warm, trying stripping him down to a small vest to feed and keeping him a little on the cool side...it sounds cruel but if he's all snuggly and warm in his PJs all day, he will sleep all day.

FWIW, i dont think your night feeds sound bad at all, for a 6wo! Certainly, they're pretty similar to what my formula fed DS is doing, and he is 5w3days old today. Typically he will have a bottle between 9pm-10pm, one at around 2am, and then an early morning one at anywhere from 5am onwards. I have been told this is quite good for a baby that's so young.

Have been trying to go out each day, went to family centre yesterday and DS slept on me for two hours! Was more awake when we came back though, but then cluster fed from 2.45am! Its just really unpredictable.

Sounds totally normal, I'm afraid. It'll work out with time!
Have you tried a wrap-style sling? I found them useful for hands-free daytime napping...
