DS2 is 8mo and naps have gone haywire. He only ever napped for 45mins at 9am and then 45mins again at 2pm but at least it was a routine and nights are generally OK.

for the last few days he's refused his morning nap, fallen asleep during lunch (followed by 10 mins nap Hmm ) and then another unpredictable half hour later in the afternoon.

DS1 has a sleep disorder so I have nothing standard to judge it on Confused

8 months is about when it goes tits up, yes. Aim for two naps : one at 9 ish and the other after lunch. I serve my 9 month olds lunch at 11.15 and put her down at 12. Bedtime is 645. It sounds like that's the routine your baby is taking on, approximately, anyway?

Aaah good, so it's not so wildly off. Thank you.

I shall aim for an earlier second nap.

I was terrified that I was going to be told that this is when they drop the morning nap Grin

8mo ds2 naps for about an hour sometime between 9.30-11 and then for 2hrs (if I'm lucky!) sometime between 1-4 but his nighttime sleep is rubbish Sad

Ds1 at that age had similar naptimes, he didn't drop the morning nap til he went to nursery at 12mo and I went back to work.

If he keeps refusing it might be that 9am is too early for his morning nap now. I'd try for more like 9.30 & see if that extra 30mins helps him settle better. I also would aim slightly earlier for his afternoon nap, 12.30 or 1pm & you may find he sleeps a wee bit longer. Think there might also be a wonder week at 8m & big sleep regression at 9m coming up so things might get squiffy for a while.hth.x
