Baby will only sleep if I'm not in the room.

Any advice?

I have 3Dc, 6,2,1. I only live in a 2 bedroom flat. Dc 1&2 share. Dc2 still gets up multiple times a night, for no reason what so ever. 3/4 times a night she screams for me outside the bedroom door and I have to keep putting her to bed.

Dc3 wakes anything from twice to 7/8 times. Plus very light sleeper so everytime dc2 wakes, he wakes. I am exhausted and due back at work on Monday.

I have put a stairgate on dc2s bedroom to stop her screaming outside my door, this is only day 3 and she screamed twice for me and then went back to bed. Her sister can open the gate so any real problems she can get out!

Tonight I have slept on the sofa, dc3 has slept till 5am. He has never slept so long. In general when I sleep on the sofa he sleeps so much better. But my back is hurting, and I don't have the room for him to be in his own room yet.

Any advice on what I can do? In my fuzzy mind I'm thinking some sort of curtain to seperate us so he doesn't see me. Although in the dark he doesn't see me- he senses I'm there!! I'm going to be so tired waking up all night when I go back to work. Hmm

Cold you not put DC3 cot in the room where the sofa is?

The other room is the front room and hardly any room! But it's worth a thought.. Maybe I should make room.. But then when he goes to bed, effectively I will have to go to bed at 7! Thanks though.

How about putting dc2 in your room and the other two in the second bedroom together?

Ohh I never thought of that! Sounds like a very good idea. That way dc2 won't be getting out because I'll basically be there. Thank you- I'm going to try this out during the holidays, just incase dc1 gets tired if dc3 keeps waking up whilst he is adjusting to the room. Thank you, I am well happy!

Hopefully 2014 we will be in a bigger property!
