Pekemoe and what to put on baby.

Hi! I have just received my pekemoe (discovered by discussions on here re transition from swaddle to grobag). It is thinner than a grobag as just one layer of cotton. Do you put a blanket over the top or layer up the baby underneath? Anyone used one who can advise?!

Oohh - that looks interesting! Is it thick cotton or quite light cotton? I'm on the lookout for something for DS and would love to hear feedback once you use it. Also, did you buy it direct from NZ?

Going by the pics on the website and the description about how it allows the baby to have some movement, I'd guess layering up underneath, but no idea what exactly. Maybe you could try using it for a nap during the day to see how warm your LO gets.

On reflection I'm thinking you'd follow the same recommendations as for a grobag. The pekemoe looks pretty self-contained and would probably trap air quite nicely. Then it would all depend on temperature of the room. Maybe have a cellular blanket on standby.

Hi zoo baby. Yes I ordered it for the website and it came in about 10 days and it was the holiday period so pretty quick. I ended up emailing the company and they said to layer up underneath but like you have thought, it does trap air so gets warmer than you might think. She said in mid winter she uses a blanket too. I'll let you know how it goes!

Look forward to hearing how you both go with it.
