Transition from co-sleeping/room sharing to sleeping in own room

DD is almost 23 months. She has slept in a cot in our room since birth (sleeps in cot until she usually wakes in the early hours, then comes into bed with us for the rest of the night), but we'd like to move her into a room of her own soon.

I'm a bit worried about DD being unsettled by the move, so I'm interested in people's experiences of the transition from room/bed sharing to the toddler being in their own room.

Sleep with her in her new room? Set up a bed next to hers. Then you can work on leaving her for nights.
