Wwyd - ds2 is 9 months. He will only fall asleep rocking

but it only takes about 60 seconds. A few mins max. Then I hold him for 15 mins before I put him in cot. So it's pretty easy. But I feel it's a habit I should try and break.
Would you bother though? If he falls asleep so easy in your arms? I've tried lying next to him and he quickly starts screaming.

Personally I would just go with it. If it's easy for you and your child, dosnt take long and they sleep happily in the cot after being rocked to sleep, I wouldn't be concerned. Maybe others will disagree but I reckon you need to pick your battles as a mum and if this isn't causing you problems and your child is happy and sleeps well as a result then that would be good enough for me. I'm sure it's something that they will grow out of anyway.

DS was like that, he is now 3 and settles himself to sleep by himself just fine and has done for ages.

I would go with it too, he is still a baby who needs a cuddle to go to sleep.

Thanks. He doesn't sleep that well at night really. I usually end up co sleeping with from about midnight and he feeds approx 3 times normally. But I feel if he was able to settle at the beginning of the night he might sleep better during the night.
But I do tend to think that it's fairly manageable just now. And the stress involved in trying to change it is not really worth it.
I'm jut a bit worried that by re time he's 18 months I will be more keen to change it. But it might be a difficult habit to change then.
