Ok, so my DS lost the ability to self settle at around about 8 months. We hit the regression and since then his sleep has been awful. I have had to rock him to sleep for naps and bedtime since then and he is now 11 months. Anyway, last night I thought I would give gradual withdrawal a go. He had his feed and was still wide awake. I turned out the light which is the main sleep cue for him. I put his in his cot and stayed with him, expecting him to get up, but he just rolled over and went straight to sleep. I was like this
He only woke once in the night and went back off easily after a quick feed. This was amazing as we have had a month of him waking up twice in the night and just not going back to sleep for hours.
This morning, I thought I would be brave and try the same thing with nap time. He did exactly the same thing - light off, in cot, rolled over and went to sleep. What is going on??? It won't always be this easy, will it?
