15 month old inconsolable at night after starting nursery!

My ds had been at nursery twice a week for the past 4 wks.
He wakes up 2/3 times a night completely inconsolable crying and thrashing around. I'm not sure if its coincidence or teething (only got 5 teeth) but its breaking my heart and I'm exhausted.
If it is separation anxiety please somebody tells me it passes.

Can you co sleep with him for a while, just to give him reassurance?

I co slept with dd on and off when she was younger. Now she's 2 1/2 and I've not slept in the same bed as her for about ten months, so it needn't be forever, just a bit of extra comfort to get him through this period of adjustment?

We had very disturbed nights with DS when he started nursery at 19 months. Lasted about 4/5 weeks. Once he was a bit calmer at nursery, we started leaving him to it a bit more at night and he settled fairly quickly. Good luck- I found the whole nursery settling in thing massively stressful.

Thanks for your replies. Yes it is so stressful. I have already done it all with my dd couple of years ago but its still as upsetting. Fingers crossed he settles soon.
