11mo sleep at night is poor...plus a cough

We had a blissful time from month 3 through to about month 8 but since she was 8mo her sleeping at night has been interupted a lot.

She has had a cough for months, we have seen the doctors numerous times but always told there is nothing they can do. We have booked in again for this coming Friday.

She coughs and wakes herself up so many times in the night and sometimes to the point where she is sick every where.

She seems to cough less during the day but its still there.

She has also changed recently and has become very moaning and whingey when she is put down on the floor to crawl around, she just constantly wants to be held by her mum.

We are both shattered, every night we are just constantly woken up and back and forth popping the dummy back in. No idea how we will get her out of the habit of having a dummy over the coming months.

Surely there must be something the doctors can do for coughs?

I have heard Karvol plug ins are good? Or Karvol drops on a muslin put over the side of the cot?

Thanks

I feel for you. No miracle solution in my pockets and using the doctors is best. Could it be silent reflux? Does sleeping on an incline help?

Otherwise it reminds me of a similar prob we had with DD1. It turned out to be dust allergy. They can test for this but by reluctant as it involves a blood test. We worked it out by elimination. For several weeks we hoovered, removed all teddies from room, changed beddings more often, etc and the croup like cough did go. I did take her to an Ear Nost Throat specialist though to check that there was nothing physical first. I think you are doing this anyway. Good luck.
