6month old waking up during the night every 2-3hours SCREAMING

Hi

After months of only waking up once or twice during the night my baby seems to be waking up every 2-3hours screaming like he is in pain/(if possible) is having a night terror or nightmare, he is screaming with his eyes closed and WILL NOT stop unless I feed him, he won't let me soothe him any other way. He is on 3 meals a day with milk after each meal and inbetween, I find it hard to think that he is actually hungry. This has been going on for nearly a month now and is starting to get to me! Sometimes when I am breastfeeding during the night I take him into the bed with us because I am so tired, which I think I might be shooting myself in the foot because I don't want him to get used to being in bed with us. He is a good baby during the day and only really has problems at night.

Has anyone else had this?? If so how long does it last???????? I have so many different answers I think it might be like: night terrors/nightmares, development leap (just about to start crawling by the looks of it) reaction to foods, has got used to being in bed with us and maybe teething but he has been teething for months now and it's not been this bad before.

Even just to know that other people are going/have been through the same thing would help!

Thanks xx

No advice, but going through a thing with a 5.5 month old, although he isn't on solids yet.

He wakes up screaming but eyes still closed, and falls back to sleep as soon as I pick him up, but won't settle properly unless he's in our bed. Thought it might be teething, but his third tooth came through last week and he's still waking.
