My nearly 9yrs dd had terrible sleep anxiety earlier in the year and the gp said if ever needed she could use Alimemazine tartrate again.
So as she is going away for the first time and very anxious she asked if she could have the sleepy medicine. I said yes and was about to take it into school so that they could have it ready for the trip next week when I noticed the bottle was out of date. I rang the gp and was told a message would be left for a prescription.
However had a call this evening from another gp saying they could not prescribe it for school trips in case it develops a habit!
arrrrrgggg, sorry, my dd is stressed like crazy now.
I have another phone call scheduled with the original gp I saw, tomorrow but not sure they will have anything different to suggest. But it just seems quite harsh to make a nearly 9yr old girl so worried.

I know some will say she might be fine but my dd will worry about absolutely everything.
I have thought of putting some lavendar oil in a little spray for her pillow to make her think she is doing something to make her sleep as i am lost as to what else I can suggest to make her look forward to the trip again.

How about getting her some Rescue Remedy? She could have the normal yellow one, and take the night time with her.

Seems to work for my dd.
