If you prop up the head of the cot....

... by how much do you prop it up? ie. how high would the books or whatever you are using under the cot feet be? Am trying to experiment with this to get the right angle without baby slipping down and am getting confused with angles, so need to know in terms of height of prop!

Thanks.

I took a bath towel and folded it in half then if you have it in front of you lengthways, I folded a triple fold, then a double fold, then just a single so it was like a step. Hope that makes sense!

I should add that if the angle is too steep then he would manage to turn himself around so his feet were at the higher end and his head at the lower end = quite useless!

I use a chunky cookery book under each of the head end cot legs. Works a treat!

I read that for reflux it helps if it's about a 30 degree angle. That's what I've tried to achieve.

A couple of books under the top two legs. (is that right - cot legs? It's very early)

QuickQuickSloe · 14/09/2012 05:28

A Jilly Cooper under each leg worked well here. I just hope he didn't absorb all the naughtiness by osmosis!

blushingmare · 14/09/2012 07:22

lucylookout yes that's what I'd seen about the 30 degrees, but that seems like a very severe angle to me and she ends up in a crumpled heap at the bottom!

Tuna tins in this house! Cheeky snack of she gets a bit peckish in the night too! Grin

bulletwithbutterflywings · 14/09/2012 18:33

I used a thick pillow under the mattress.

Blushingmare, I can't get a clear view because our bed is in the way. I think it's about 30. And my don wakes up all. the. time. so never makes it to the bottom!
