Mine have all been nearer to 2 years old, as I think 1 is quite young, in fact number 3 was over 2 as she took ages to learn to climb out of the cot!

my advice is to keep them in the cot as long as possible - dd was 2 and ds was 2½ years when they went into a big bed.

agree. I think 1yo is a bit too young really, you are best waiting til she is old enough to understand she has to stay in bed, otherwise you'll just end up constantly putting her back in. Its fun & games to these LO's! My DS is 2 & is still in a cot, in a sleeping bag so he can't climb out!

We moved our DS at 1yo.
Worked out fine for us.
He loved his new bed and was walking extremely well by then.
We did roll up a couple of towels and tucked it under his undersheet to act as a cheap bedrail incase he rolled (worked a treat!)
I have to say it didn't help his sleep, not that it hindered it either though.
He would get up and come into our bed at some point in the night but that's fine with us.
Try it.

My daughter isnt walking yet so i think it could work to my benefit by her not being able to open doors or whatever and her crib turns into a bed and has bed rails on it
