My DD has never slept thru the night but only used to wake once it is now every 2 hours, sometimes a cuddle works but most of the time feeds to sleep.

I cannot work it out as she just goes into a full blown cry and takes 5 mins of cuddling before she settles but when you put her back down it starts again so often resort to feeding. I just wish i knew what it was, feel so useless.

It is now putting a strain between me and dp, we also have his son (13yrs) every other weekend and she keeps him awake. DD is still in our room.

Anyway where do i go from here? Think i may have to try CC but not convinced she would ever stop crying. Any ideas ? Need to do something as really getting me down now

If you search the sleep topic, you'll find lots of useful stuff relating to this.
There's also a book by Richard Ferber, Solve Your Child's Sleep Problem, which is brilliant on how babies/children sleep, and sleep associations.

Hi Chocohead, that is exactly how my dd is. She is now 9m but has been this way for a while. I have no advice as I find it easiest just to go with it and feed every couple of hours. We did make a brief attempt at cc and pu/pd but just ended up to stressed by it. We are now having the occassional good night, but these are few and far between so I can sympathise lots!

Thought i would update, thanks to you all.

I got the book by Richard Ferber and found it very helpful, i reduced the feeds by a minute a night and extended the amount of time between feeds. Today is day 10 and for the last 2 nights she has had last feed at 1930 and sleeps through till about 5.30 and i feed her bout 6-6.30.

This is such a result!!
