DD1 is 2.5 she's an OK sleeper usually goes to bed Ok at half 7 previously with me or DH cuddling her to sleep lately on a good night and with a little persuasion on her own. For the past few months she's been getting out of bed every night any time between 12 and 4 and getting in with DH ( he is the spare room since sleep fighting DD2 arrived 5 mo ago but that's a whole new thread!) I mostly blame DH as before DD2 arrived if she woke at night I would settle her in her bed or rarely let her get in with us but he works long hours and can't handle the hard route!! Any way its now gone from being a rare event to every night!! We felt like we couldn't be firm just after DD2 arrived as she was already dealing with change.

But DH is now on night shift so in dealing with a sleepless 5 mo and DD1s waking last night was AWFUL she woke up at 12 ish after I'd just got DD2 back to sleep I settled her but she was up again half an hour later crawling up my bed! I just let her get in at first but for the next four hours she tossed and turned and woke everytime DD2 did which is CONSTANTLY DD2 wouldnt go back to sleep once she saw her sister they wre both wide awake it took me till 5 to settle them yawn!!

So we have agreed this must stop but how?? I out her back to bed twice last night and she cried I can't bear it :(

How long is DH on nights for and can you wait until he is off for a couple of days before you tackle this?

6 nights I'm not sure waiting is an option as it means 6 nights of no sleep if I let her in with me I can't sleep! DD2 usually ends up in with me at some point as she's a bugger to settle in the cot after midnight?? This obviously would not be an option if DD1 comes in? Unless I make a cam bed on the floor with our ready bed for DD1 were lucky to have lots if space I just was hoping someone had a manic solution!
