Where do you give your little ones their bedtime milk?

My DS is 2 Years old and his bedtime routine is a bath, followed by him having his bedtime bottle of milk lying in his bed with him (he is in a big single bed) and then I lay next to him until he falls asleep.
I am wondering whether to change his routine slightly and give him his bath, his bottle of milk (trying to get him to take it from a cup, without much success) sitting on the sofa in the lounge, and then take him into his room for a few bedtime stories. I am hoping that he will then go to sleep.
Most nights we have a few stories before his bath, as a way of calming him down for 10-15mins before his bath.
Any advice would be welcome, first time mum. Thanks

at that age mine had a cup of milk downstairs and then went up later to do teeth, get stories in bed, etc. It's not good for their teeth to have milk and then not brush them before sleep time.

We do milk in our room, sitting on our bed :)

As in, my and DH's room.

We are trying to get him to take his milk from a cup/beaker but he won't. Occassinally he has a few sips from it.
If he does not have his full bottle of milk before bed, he wakes up the night hungry.
