Hi
I really need some advice as really not sure what to do.
My son is now 13 months. Still breastfed but only for bed time.
He has a morning nap for about 3/4 hour and then an afternoon nap for about 90 mins. I try to keep him as active as possible.
He goes to bed at 7pm but will wake by 830 then 930 then 11 then 1 then 3 then 4 and eventually gets up around 6 -630am. Sometimes the timings are different but it is like this everynight and has been for a very long time. I do not give him breast milk between 11pm and 6am just water.
I do all the normal checks on him and he is very easy to settle when he wakes but he keeps waking all of the time.
I really dont know where to turn! xx

Does he cry when he wakes or just chatter to himself? I would try waiting a little longer than you expect and he may go back to sleep...

I also think you might want to wait a bit to se if he'll settle himself before you go in, and gradually extend how long you wait. It's really hard not to go and comfort them when they're crying, but usually it's only because they fancy a cuddle! You need to stick it out - it only takes a couple of days. And remember - like everything else, it's only a phase!

Agree witht he two previous, I beat myself up for months about DS's sleep but then when we tried just leaving him it took about 10 days for him to get the hint and he sleeps right through now.

My toddler (1 year +) book says that they should get 13-14 hours sleep so maybe if you cut out a nap he will sleep better at night? DS now has an hour-hour and a half before lunch and sleeps about 12 hours at night.

That makes it sound like I left him in the cot crying for 10 days... erm longest was probably 20 minutes ;)
